Vision and Mission
To be a global leader in translational life sciences research, innovation, and training.
To accelerate translation and commercialization of innovative life science and biomedical research through the development and integration of cutting-edge safety science predictive technologies.
We aim to achieve this by:
- Fostering partnerships with academia, industry, and government
- Performing cutting-edge research to advance the science of chemical and drug safety
- Accelerating development of new, safer medicines
“The Hamner Institutes has a great heritage in studying the safety of small-molecule chemicals. It has also positioned itself with cutting-edge research at the key juncture in pharmaceutical development between basic research discovery and clinical studies.”
Charles E. Hamner, Jr., D.V.M., Ph.D.
Vice Chairman, The Hamner Board of Directors
“The Hamner’s integrative platform, which includes academe, industry, and the government, will help advance public health policy decision-making and foster the translation of biomedical discoveries being made in North Carolina’s research
laboratories into new medicines and diagnostics.”
