Message from the Chair
Innovation is born in research laboratories where ideas are put to test. The Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences campus expansion will provide the necessary space and culture needed for the development of new tools to further integrate safety and efficacy and to carry out proof of concept research.
We have a remarkable opportunity to enlighten the world's view of the causes of illness and to bring about the best result: safer medicines for treating human disease and development of chemical products friendly to our environment.
With the convergence of academia, industry and government along with the generosity of individuals and foundations, we stand ready to translate and interpret these innovations with more certainty, in a shorter time with less expense to benefit people who are sick or to delay potential illness.
I am both humbled and pleased to be a part this process - to engage in informative and inspiring conversations and to see the interactions give rise to new ideas, new approaches and ultimately, new medicines.
