About The Hamner
Funding
The Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences has an annual operating budget of $21.5 million. Annual revenues from government, industry and foundation grants and contracts total $21 million (see sponsor list below). Interest income accounts for an additional $500,000 annually. This revenue stream ensures the organization's continued progress and scientific advances in the areas of environmental risk assessment and translational research and development in the biomedical sciences.
Through a capital campaign, the organization will build an endowment. Funding is necessary to maintain and expand facilities, attract scientific expertise, preserve FDA Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) certification, and allow for the integration of safety and efficacy studies during the preclinical development of pharmaceuticals. This endowment fund will provide one-time capital requirements, enhancements for program quality and other expenditures.
