Postdoctoral Positions
The Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences is seeking postdoctoral fellows with Ph.D., D.V.M., or M.D. degrees to participate in research. Hamner research programs focus on creating mechanistic information to reduce uncertainty in estimating human health risks from chemical exposures. Candidates in the life, physical, and engineering sciences are encouraged to apply. Hamner doctoral staff members have backgrounds in aerosol science, molecular and cellular biology, veterinary medicine, pharmacology and toxicology, pathology, biochemistry, chemistry, biomathematics, biostatistics, and engineering. The Hamner offers exciting opportunities to use contemporary research approaches and instrumentation to address real-world issues. Over the past 25 years, more than 400 postdoctoral fellows have been trained at The Hamner and are now employed in responsible positions in industrial, government, and academic organizations.

CSS Postdoctoral Fellowship
The Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina is seeking a postdoctoral fellow in its Program in Chemical Safety Sciences to study DNA damage response pathways. Under supervisions by both experimental and computational biologists, the successful candidate will use integrated systems biology approach to develop in vitro assays and in silico models for toxicity pathway perturbation by genotoxic agents.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent in biology, toxicology, or related discipline, supplemented with evidence of mathematical, programming, and modeling skills, or a Ph.D. in chemical/biomedical engineering, mathematics, or physics with sufficient training in molecular and cell biology. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team will be essential.

Bioinformatics Research Associate or Postdoctoral Candidate
The Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative individual to participate in research involving the analysis of gene expression data in relation to chemical risk assessment. The successful candidate will perform both statistical and interpretative analysis on time course and dose response gene expression data from a diverse selection of chemicals.
A minimum of a masters degree in biology or related scientific discipline with a degree or certificate in computer science are required. A Ph.D. degree is preferred. Previous experience in the analysis of gene expression data is also required.
