Center for Genomic Biology and Bioinformatics

Overview

Russell S. Thomas, Ph.D., Director

Researchers within the Center for Genomic Biology and Bioinformatics apply bioinformatics and genomic technology to improve understanding of basic biological systems, gene-environmental interactions, and biological responses to pharmaceuticals or chemicals in the environment. Gene expression microarray analysis is routinely performed on various tissues exposed to chemicals or drugs and can be used to show correlation between transcriptional benchmark dose values, pathological changes, and tumor incidence.
