Research

My research interests are in developing biologically based pharmacokinetic models to support safety and risk assessment of environmental chemicals, with particular emphasis on addressing early life sensitivity. My current research is focused on in vitro to in vivo extrapolation (IVIVE) modeling of chemical disposition to aid the translation of in vitro toxicity findings into estimates of safe human exposure. I combine physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling and in vitro studies to provide a means to better estimate human health effects of various environmental compounds, including pesticides, persistent chemicals, metals, and engineered nanoparticles.
