Education and Training

Over 400 postdoctoral fellows have received training since the founding of The Hamner over 30 years ago. Approximately 35 percent of former postdoctoral fellows are employed in the pharmaceutical industry and 25 percent in the chemical industry.

The Hamner awards predoctoral research fellowships to Ph.D. students at area universities whose programs compliment ongoing Hamner projects. The Hamner also supports summer internships and cooperative education opportunities for undergraduates.

The Hamner has hosted a number of visiting scientists from all over the world. These trainees typically represent academic institutions and are interested in utilizing a systems biology approach within their research programs.
